The biggest winter event of the year in the AE calendar just grew bigger. We are over the Snowcamp of 2018. This year 21 riders joined us for a trip to Les 2 Alpes which is one of the biggest ski resorts in Europe.

After an overnight journey with the bus the team arrived to the upper part of Les 2 Alpes village (1800m). We got our regular French size apartments and we made them cosy. After a welcome drink we had a rest so we could prepare for the 6 days of action.

We were lucky with the weather. 5 sunny days out of 6. Temperature from -1 to +8 Celsius degrees.

One day we had fresh powder but the visibility was terrible. We couldn’t see properly. Everything was white.

During the days we were shreading mostly around 2600m. Coming down from 3400m and visiting the Snow Park. Pano Bar was a regular meeting place during the day for a drink.

We enjoyed the programs during the nights:

  • Mulled wine party
  • Board games
  • Room party in M7C0

Endorphin room

Biggest positive surprise was that even the new members take so much effort to score points in the KotA race and keep the team spirit on a high level, so they may make their room win the Endorphin room title. It was really difficult to choose which room will win.

Angels room

  • Pushing their limits.
  • Made some tricks.
  • They were breaking their speed records.
  • Creating great effort on the Marketinger task and created great pictures.

Party room

  • Great tricks (flips, 360s and jibs)
  • 135+ bottlecaps
  • Hosting most of the parties

Sun city room

  • Huge work on the Marketinger
  • Big team spirit, high attendance on the events
  • Team video

Lover’s room

  • Had nice achievements, pushed their limits
  • Unfortunately they scored minus points several times for going to sleep before the party ended

Winner

The choosen room for the title is the Sun city!

Queen of the Adrenaline

Despite it was just the first time we organized this competition there were a pretty big fight for this title. It seam like most of the ladies wanted to stand on the podium with the King.

King of the Adrenaline

Huge fight for this coveted award. Every man’s wish is to see the cup above their bed when they wake up in the morning. Really saw some limit pushing.

Winner

Difficult to choose, but finally Korell can say that he is a back 2 back King of the Adrenaline. He was always looking for the opportunity to score some points, that is the effort that can gain the title.

Best Trick

This is also a highlighted award, since a bunch of courage is required to perform a trick that can be nominated for this title. This year Tomi was brave enough to land some inverted rotations.

My heart was beating like hell when I saw everybody next to the kicker waiting for the stunt. I decided to go for it. Happened quickly, but it was a big satisfaction.

King of the GoPro

It was also good to see how well-prepared were the team members. We saw Gopro Hero 6, Hero 5, and 2 bigger cameras on the hills. The iPhones had been also used well, so we have so many nice pictures and movies to choose from.

Col du Lautaret

One extra thing is that Tomi visited this snowkite paradise with the Kiteline team. The wind wasn’t epic, but it definitely worth a look every time when you are around.
